Dedicated to my great grandmother Genevieve from Tennessee
lyrics
She was small, small as a dancer
Eyes gonna light, light up the world
She was strong, walking through fire
She would let nobody in
He was kind, just like his father
Never would raise, raise a fist
Travelled wide, wide as the ocean
He would wait for her to love him
Can I borrow flowers from your hair?
Can I steal that spark out of your stare?
Don't you know you're turning women green?
Breaking peoples’ hearts, your hands are clean
She was bold, bolder than concrete
She'd knock them all off of their feet
Wrapped around her little finger
She'd steal the eyes of all that she'd meet
No my chest don't burn, burn with nobody
But fire's gonna light, light up my skin
No I can't have, have nobody
No I can't have no one but him

This singer is absolutely wonderful. I was introduced to her talent in Australia in the out back. Our guide would wake us up everything morning at 4 to the song Red Dirt. I just fell in love with her talent! kathleenlabelle
This is the first album I found that really spoke to me as a young fem.
From the simplicity, the bass drum, specifically in landfill is so steady and soothing. I love landfill because it perfectly portrays trauma bonds, sexual or romantic relationships rooted in power imbalance. Being led on, unrequited love, constantly being clueless if someone is a real friend, or a lover. Are they yours or are they ruthlessly rogue. Untameable. Love and hate are such similar feelings, and they often mingle. clementinehatepageichangedmymind
